How carefree I want to be when I'm 55 years old?

55 used to sound like a big number to me and it feels like forever to reach that age. In a blink of eyes, I'm less than 20 years from that number. 😳

Scary isn't it how time flies without us realising.

How many smart financial decisions I have made till now? Not many and I'm totally not proud of it.

I will do many things differently if I could turn back time.

When I speak to younger profiles who have started building wealth at a young age, to be honest, I'm quite envy of them.

I can't help but imagine them having plenty of financial options when they reach my age. 🥹

When it comes to building wealth, there are 4 things we can't miss out.

💻 If your full time income is the foundation of your wealth, set aside some and focus on growing it. The total amount of money we can earn in a lifetime is determined.

⏰ Compounding is a powerful phenomenon, but it will start off VERY slow. Have faith and the benefits will add up over the years. Stay consistent and utilise the gift of time.

🥅 The path to wealth is volatile. There's always a crisis in some part of the world affecting the economy, and eventually, our wealth. But if you zoom out the time horizon, these crisis tend to work themselves out. (e.g. COVID-19). The long-term trend is generally positive, but prepare umbrellas to weather the unavoidable short-term volatility - the importance of emergency fund and insurance coverages.

💡 We can't control every outcome, but we can control the decisions we make. If the decisions were well thought-out, it's all that matters.

It is never too late to make a good financial decision. Determine the level of carefreeness you want to achieve 20 years from your current age.

Don't underestimate the little things you have missed along the way that brings about a bigger impact than you imagine.

I'm keeping my head in the game enroute to my financial freedom. ✌
